Description
Soaring on thermals above the oases in the Wastelands, the Quatl has fascinated the W'adrhun since ancient times. However, bonding with and domesticating these fearsome beasts is a challenging process that begins as soon as they hatch, as they imprint on the first living being they recognize as their "mother." Many Braves have met tragic fates trying to tame adolescent Quatls, often torn apart by the furious parents or the beasts themselves. Once the secret of imprinting was uncovered, the number of Quatl riders began to grow, but the difficulty of acquiring healthy Quatl eggs has hindered their expansion. Reluctant to risk these precious resources in battle, clever riders have learned to harness the beast's speed, darting across the battlefield at breakneck speeds and using custom harpoons to strike their unsuspecting foes. Those who survive the brutal impact often fall victim to the sudden pull, with even larger creatures facing severe injury or death from a well-placed harpoon.
HOW THEY PLAY: Similar to birds of prey, the Quatl serves as the W'adrhun’s long-range operator, circling the battlefield to stalk enemies and key targets before swooping in to finish off engaged opponents, isolated ranged units, or to prevent enemies from capturing an objective zone.
