Description
Most Nords know Loki as a chaotic and dangerous force, unpredictable at best and openly hostile at worst. He is the father of monsters, the bane of the Aesir, and a persistent thorn in the sides of heroes, mortals, and gods alike. Yet, despite his flaws, it was Loki who created the Goltr—the only animal in Manheim that thrives in the wild while also being capable of domestication. The Goltr’s flesh is tender, its hardy nature makes parasites rare (though not unheard of), and its leather is durable, flexible, and remarkably warm. Intelligent and loyal, Goltr can be trained for various roles, and it’s not uncommon to see herds of these creatures loaded onto ships for raids. Although their fierce temperament and insatiable appetite have caused more casualties among handlers and foes than any other beast—and have even given the Nords a reputation for cannibalism—their value to the Nords is undeniable, much to the amusement of an old, twisted god.
