How to Play:

Unable to speak, the amnesiac ghost communicates with the mediums through visions depicted on illustrated cards. The mediums must interpret these images to help the ghost recall the details of their murder: the perpetrator, the location, and the weapon used. The more effectively the mediums work together and make accurate guesses, the easier it will be to identify the correct culprit.

In Mysterium, a reimagining of the game system from Tajemnicze Domostwo, one player assumes the role of the ghost, while the others act as mediums. To solve the crime, the ghost must help the mediums identify all suspects from the night of the murder. Suspect, location, and weapon cards are laid out, and the ghost secretly assigns one of each to a medium.

Each hour (or game turn), the ghost gives vision cards face up to each medium, replenishing their hands to seven cards. These vision cards depict dreamlike images that the mediums must use to determine the suspect associated with each card. Once all vision cards have been distributed, the ghost starts a two-minute sand timer. Mediums place their tokens on suspects and use clairvoyance tokens to indicate agreement or disagreement with other players' guesses.

When time is up, the ghost reveals whether the guesses were correct. Mediums who guessed correctly move on to identify the crime's location and weapon, while those who guessed incorrectly keep their vision cards and receive new ones the next hour. Once a medium identifies the suspect, location, and weapon correctly, they advance to the epilogue board and earn clairvoyance points based on the remaining time on the clock. Remaining clairvoyance tokens can be used to score additional points.

If any mediums fail to identify their correct suspect, location, and weapon by the end of the seventh hour, the ghost fails and dissipates, leaving the mystery unsolved. If all mediums succeed, the ghost recovers enough memory to reveal the culprit.

Mediums then arrange their suspect, location, and weapon cards on the table and number each group. The ghost selects one group, places the matching culprit number face down on the epilogue board, and picks three vision cards—one for each category (suspect, location, weapon). After shuffling the cards, players with fewer clairvoyance points reveal one vision card and vote for the suspect they believe is guilty. Players with more points reveal a second vision card and vote, while those with the most points see the final card and cast their vote.

If the majority of mediums identify the correct suspect, with ties resolved by the most clairvoyant player's vote, the killer is revealed and the ghost can rest peacefully. If not, you may need to try again...
