BLUELAND
To the relief of NATO commanders, the Soviet push has faltered as fuel shortages and a rising tide of anti-war protests have ground the invasion to a stand-still.
However, NATO ground troops are also battle weary and apart from some stunning, if minor, victories there has been little effort to coordinate a push to take back the territories seized by the Russians.
While the nuclear option has been temporarily suspended as European leaders lobby for peace talks, the spectre of further unrest in the middle east hangs over their heads...
REDLAND
Soviet offensives in Iraq and Iran have failed to produce any meaningful gains as the brilliant defense of the generals in the middle east have stopped dead any attempt to seize critical oil fields.
With fuel quickly running out the armored push into Europe has ground to a halt as the Russians and their warsaw pact allies being unwilling to inflict the brutalities of the past on occupied cities.
Sensing the winds of change as dissent grows in the Soviet Union over an unpopular war, the politburo must find a way to hold on to their fading power.
GOLDLAND
While NATO has scored some successes in pushing further incursions out of Kuwait, the region itself remains a hostile environment to any would-be invaders. Emboldened by the string of victories, Arab nationalism is on the rise and the new masters of the Middle east look forwards to establishing a chokehold on the supply of oil to the rest of the world.
Lured by the success and meteoric rise of Iraqi power, many mercenary companies have flocked to the middle east in the promise of a very profitable war.
